The goal is to keep the "Core" lean while allowing the "Swarm" to scale based on the project pipeline.
- The Leadership (Director Cloud and Applications): Acting as the Managing Director/Head of Product. This role oversee the portfolio, vets business cases, and manages the high-level Odoo Scrum environment.
- The Product Owner (The Intrapreneur): Any staff member whose idea is greenlit. They retain "Founder-lite" status, holding final say on features and earning a profit commission, once costs have been re-couped.
- The Core Technical Team: A Lead Full Stack Developer who acts as the "Manager of the incubator," who, together with the leadership, overseeing code quality and architectural integrity across all products.
The Resource Swarm:
- Off-shore: High-velocity execution for UI/UX and repetitive coding.
- AI Agents: Specialised LLM-based agents for documentation, unit testing, and initial boilerplate generation. As well as marketing templates down the track.
The Idea to Market Process
To maintain the Google-style agility, the process must be standardised in Odoo.
Phase 1: The Pitch (The Gateway)
- Submission: Staff submit a "Lean Canvas" via an Odoo Website Form.
- Business Case: If the idea has legs, the PO develops a financial model (ROI, TAM, and resource requirements).
- The Shark Tank: A monthly session where the PO pitches to the Power Tech Group directors.
Phase 2: Architecture & Resourcing
- Blueprinting: Once greenlit, the Leadership and the Full Stack Lead design the architecture (e.g., Snowflake for data-heavy apps, React Native for mobile, etc…).
- Resourcing: The project is assigned a "squad" consisting of the PO, the Lead Dev, 1-2 off-shore devs, and the AI Swarm.
Phase 3: The Build (Odoo Scrum)
- Sprint Management: Use Odoo Project with the Kanban/Scrum view.
- Automated Reporting: Real-time dashboards showing burn rate against the initial Power Tech funding.
- Standups: There will need to be at least a weekly standup for progress and blockers, at which the PO must attend. It is the PO’s responsibility to organise the standups and run the project according to the standard developed by the Leadership and the Lead Developer.
